Rory Morrisey’s Nature Web
This was a guided tour, mainly to see birds, run by Limosa.
We stayed in the Senegambia Hotel, which was great for wildlife, and went out all
day every day to see more of it!
The weather in January/February 2014 was sunny and warm. There were certainly many
birds to be seen, including some familiar ones that migrate to the UK in the summer.
Butterflies and other insects, plus flowers, are more plentiful in the Gambian summer,
but we still saw quite an interesting selection.
The photo above was taken at the Lamin rice fields (aka Tanbi Wetland National Park)
and it shows (left to right) a western reef egret, a black egret and a hamerkop.
The photo galleries for The Gambia are split into sections. You can either click
